"Deprived of any hope,
Taught they couldn't cope.
Slaves right from the start.
Til death do them part.
Poor little fuckers, what a sorry pair,
Had their lives stolen, but they didn't really care.
Poor little darlings, just your ordinary folks,
Victims of the system and it's cruel jokes.
The couple views the wreckage and dreams of home sweet home,
They'd almost paid the mortgage, then the system dropped its bomb."

My name is Tim and I live in North Eastern Iowa (near Waterloo). I got into punk rock in my sophmore year of high school, when I heard Green Day (hey we all gotta start somewhere), at first I thought it was shit, but then after listening more I started liking it. Then in high school I went through my Christian phase, which is when I really got into punk rock, I first heard MXPX, then bands like The Crucified, Crux, Slick Shoes, Crash Dog, and other Christian punk bands, and I was like dude this is the coolest music I've ever heard. And it all had mesages that I could relate to, especially Crash Dog with their heavy anti-political lyrics (I strongly recomend this band, especially their alblum: "Cashits,Fascists, and Other Fungus") Even though it is from a Christian perspective it makes some very valid points. When I got into my Senior year of high school I met my friend John, and he let me listen to some of his music, bands like: NOFX, Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys, Operation Ivy, Black Flag, and compilations like Punk-O-Rama (1-3), Hopelessly Devoted To You (1&2), and Cinima Beer Nuts. And I was like this is what I've been searching for all my life, punk was like my Holy Grail. Later I met my friend Bryon, and he introduced me to Crass, Rudimentary Peni, Naked Agression, Misfits, and other old school bands, and that is where I found an even deeper love- ANARCHY!!!!!!! Later I bought the Flip Side Video of Subhumans, and UK Subs, and it just blew me away. These are bands that believe in what they sing about, it wasn't all about girlfriends, and shit, that alot of the trendy pop punk shit is about (not that that is always bad, sometimes it's nice to hear, but there are a lot more important things out there, like hunger, racisim, war, oppression, and other important issues). Also somewhere in there I heard the Ramones, and dude, what can I say it's the Ramones, they kick ass, they make you feel good, they write songs you can identify with. That's the great thing about punk rock, there are no Rock Stars, there are punks like you and me, they live lives like we do, they grow up like we do, they are human, and it's not about autographs, or paying $50 dollars to see a show (like Aerosmith, fucking $50 a seat, that's bullshit). Punk is about sharing ideas, and having fun. This ain't no corporate sponsored Ozz-Fest shit, this is $5 a show, having fun with friends, supporting nobel causes, and UNITY.
Okay enough rambling.

Aside from being a punk/anarchist, I'm also a skateboarder.
I've been skating since 1990, and I'm still not very good, but that's not why I do it, I do it because it is fun, it is a great way to relieve stress, and it is a good alternatives to drugs. Whenever I had a problem my board was there for me, and shit worked itself out. I'm still mainly into old school skating, the new tech style isn't all that intersting to me, but it's still cool, but there's nothing like bombing a hill, or riding ramps. Some of my favorite skaters include: Tony Hawk, Christian Hosoi, Lance Mountain, Mike McGill, Ray Underhill, Natas Kaupus, Willy Santos, Steve Caballero, Andrew Reynolds, and Bam Margera. So if anyone has any photos of these skaters, or any old school shit, send it to me, I'd like to feature it on this site.
